Exchange configuration

Before the Plug-In can search for contacts, the configuration must be provided.
In order to access the data on the exchange server the credentials of a user must be saved.
That user must have read permissions. The plug-in only performs reading operations.
The plug-in uses the Exchange Web Service therefore the URL must likely end with „/ews/exchange.asmx“.

Access the Macro

The macro can be accessed via the macro browser. To open the macro browser type in a { . After that you can search for „Exchange Contacts“.
After the Macro was selected a dialog should open where you have the possibility to search for a Contact.
The plug-in will search for these attributes: first name, surname, email address and company.

Permissions

Permissions will be applied depending on the general permission order. This is inspired by the access control rules of Apache

Encountered Problems

Here is a list of problems that can be encountered when working with this plug-in.
If you have questions or found problems that could not be cleared by this help page dont hesitate to contact us help.atlassian@neos-it.de.
Provide as much information as you can (Confluence Version, Logfiles, what you have done and so on). The more information we receive the better we can help you.

Email displayed as legacy dn name

In some cases the email address of a contact is displayed as the LegacyExchangeDN (e.g. /o=Example/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=juser).
This is not caused by the plug-in, but represents the actual data sent by the Exchange Server. A possible cause is that the Exchange Server has this address saved as some type of pointer.
Deleting and re-adding the email address of the active directory user seems to solve this problem. The following links provide additional informations: simple-talk, experts-exchange, msdn
